(More customer reviews)I had a very stubborn kitchen sink drainage problem, there was absolutely no flow, complete blockage. Someone (who shall not be named) flushed a bunch of meat through the disposal causing this blockage. Spending many hours, I tried everything under the sun:
- Removed the trap and clean it out, no luck! The clog was beyond the trap and in the wall somewhere.
- Used a manual snake, no luck!
- Plunging til I got blisters on my hands, making sure to block up the other side of the sink, no luck!
- Professional strength chemical gels that claim it will free the clog, no luck! Though the inside of my trap/pipes look nice and clean and don't stink as bad.
- Poured several pots of boiling water down the drain, no luck!
- Hooked the shop vac up to the drainage pipe, using suck and blow modes , no luck!
I was going to either cut the drainage pipes and install a clean-out below the blockage (accessible from my basement) or call a plumber. Well I did not like the idea of spending an afternoon reworking the drainage pipes nor did I like the idea of spending $100+ on a professional plumber so I came across this device and for the money it was worth a try. I can tell you I was skeptical about this device though, especially since with my plunging efforts, I thought the plunging I had done would have generated as much (if not more) clog busting force that this device could generate.
I got the device home, hooked the device to a garden hose, and the garden hose to my washing machine hook-up, inserted the device into the drain pipe, had my wife turn on the water as I manned the other end, and after a few tense moments of the water running and filling the drainage pipe, WOOSH, I heard a steady stream of water flowing through the drainage pipes! Eureka!!!! The clog was busted!
Just some notes. My drainage pipe is 1.5" so I was only able to insert about 2/3 of the device into the pipe, this is probably because the place where I inserted it has a 90 degree elbow. But even with this, the bladder was able to seal OK against the sides of the pipe.
Also, I'm sure results may vary based on the nature of the clog itself, how much water pressure you have running through the hose, etc.
But I've never been so excited to do dishes again! You don't realize how important your kitchen sink is to you until it stops draining and the dishes start piling up.
Also, this is my first review I've ever written on here so you can tell how much I'm excited about how this device helped me.
